Modern Primitives

I have just come across this book "Modern Primitives" and found these amazing paintings by Ivan Generalic, who was one of a group of artists described as The Peasant Naives.  They painted the countryside they lived and worked in.

In a funny way they remind me of the Ansel Adam photography in its abstraction and love of nature.

Hi,

Welcome to my blog.  I hope you follow me on my no doubt stressful but definitely exciting journey towards my Final Third Year Surface Design Show at Bolton University  -  hopefully ending at the New Designers Show London 2013.

During the summer I have agonised over my proposed theme.   I have visited various exhibitions, read and researched current trends searching for that spark of inspiration.  Finally I came across a couple of photographic books in a second hand bookshop in Haslingden:   the first a photographic record of nature in the US National Parks by Ansel Adams the other photographs of barns and bridges across the great American dustbowl.
